What’s Your Origin Story? Workshop
The Workshop invites you to pause — go inward. We will go on a journey into the stories inhibiting you, so you can begin to write the story you want to tell.
“stories are how we makes sense of our lives and find meaning. But what if these stories don’t serve us and keep us stuck? we assume our circumstances shape our stories, but what if the opposite is true? How we narrate our lives shapes what it becomes"
Telling stories carves a path through the territory of what it means to be human; while we are telling and living out these stories every day - are they the stories we want to tell? were they written from our true core, for us or stuck in our past? what is your true story; the story you are dying to tell? In a time of upheaval or when we are between stories, both personally or collectively, the need, importance and value of telling true stories becomes ever more evident. Your greatest story, the story you were born to write comes from asking great questions — the Workshop emboldens you to do so.
"our life is shaped by the stories we tell and at any moment we are one question away from writing a new story"
Your greatest story is written by connecting to your creative well and expressing it to the outside world. The umbilical cord connecting these two spaces is free-flowing from birth but can become blocked or restricted, but with attention, nourishment and activation can flow again. Whatever the form your creative expression takes is entirely individual; maybe it comes in the form of writing the book that incessantly knocks inside of you, turning your passion into a business, making nourishing meals for your family, or feeling more fulfilled in yourself — learning how to harness this creative energy is vital. How do we do this when so many unhelpful stories inhibit the flow of these ideas? We are the vision holders and authors of our future self and society; our future is not yet written and formed from the stories we tell today. Through the process of writing these stories, we can make new meaning, unblock, heal and find freedom from the confines of these old stories, forging space to write new stories in our authentic voice.
"the next chapter of our human story is not yet written; it will be a collection of our individual stories- what will your part read like?"
The Motivation to create this workshop comes from —
1. a knowing that are lives are shaped by and shaping the stories we tell
2. a knowing that creativity is the vehicle of change
3. a belief that beckoning and the creative and storyteller in all of us, will transform our individual and collective futures
The Workshop is designed to help you demystify and re-write the stories that limit your creative capacity and equip you with practices to activate and express your full creative expression of self. As we progress from week to week, we will dive into the narrative arc of your story and your relationship with the creative practice and invite you to engage in practices, exercises and conversations to deepen the exploration further. Through small group mentorship, play, experimentation and practice, we will explore and support each other to access the creative communication that happens naturally between our imagination, our intuition and our bodies, so we can direct our creative energy toward our chosen end; work, career, relationship, health or art. The Workshop is both an individual and collaborative practice and integrates ancient and modern practices.
Workshop Elements
-
Telling our own story makes the invisible - visible. Our life is a composite of multiple stories, and we are a composite of multiple selves, which come together to form the lens we see and interact with the world.
Stepping into one of these stories loosens the grip of old stories that keep us living these out and makes space for seeing and feeling things differently, leaving room for creating preferred ones. This way, we can reconstruct new meaning from old narratives and thicken new ones more in line with our authentic selves and encourage the expression of our creativity.
Each week will be centred around a theme and offer a series of prompts, passages, quotes and exercises to invite you to explore your inner world, parts of yourself, memories and beliefs. The prompts will be collected from new and ancient writers, philosophers, artists, change makers, business leaders, and my reflections that have supported my evolution and others I have worked with.

Creativity, from the Latin creatus ‘to make, to bring forth, and crescere ‘to arise, grow,’ is the principle life force energy to bring anything into being.
Creativity is not an illusive gift reserved for the select few, but practice and a developable skill. Creative expression comes through connecting your creative well to the outside world. Holding space for what obstructed the flow enables us to recover the dormant parts of selves and fosters greater creative expression. The umbilical cord connecting these two spaces is free-flowing from birth but can become blocked or restricted due to traumas, lack of activation or attention.
The flow of creative energy sits at the intersection of where the project or task at hand and our ability to meet it. Through jostling our creative muscle, expanding our creative resources, discovering and unblocking the entry point into our well, and building a toolkit of rituals and exercises to express it — the flow of light grows brighter and easier to access.

We will gather virtually, discuss the week's theme, and share our reflections and insights from the writing prompts and creative practices.
The timeless and inherently human ritual of gathering in intimate circles, and sharing stories and wisdom, has been intrinsic to human problem solving, connection and evolution since time immemorial and for a reason. Sharing and holding space for each other's stories, creative expression, and vulnerability is a transformational part of the process. The medicine of being transported into someone else's story is indescribable and endlessly valuable; a felt sense of being seen and not alone, offering healing and inspiration through another perspective - fostering an ability to make sense, new connections and meaning of our own story, opening space for new.
Sharing is encouraged but not compulsory. It can be vulnerable to do so, but we will create a safe space to support each other. While facilitating the workshop, I will be on this journey alongside. I, too, will be excavating my own stories, delving deeper into my creative well, sharing, reflecting and listening.
“the path of becoming has no destination, like the creative river that has no end - but though writing your story, filling your creative well and practicing creative expression, the direction is made more clear and can flow with greater ease”

the story.
The Workshop was born out of a desire to make my 1-1 storywork accessible to all. Storywork is based on the practice and theory of narrative therapy, ancient and contemporary methods from embodied experience, academic research and professional work with others over the past ten years. Like many, intellectualizing was a way to suppress and disconnect from feelings and traumas (anything that overwhelms your nervous system) I couldn't process. By doing so, I became unintentionally stuck, re-playing and reliving in the confines of these stories, and routing all my creative energy there rather than in the direction of my choosing. I told myself only artists were creative, and as I didn't hold a paintbrush or a tune, working with this energy did not apply to me. Re-writing this story, offering healing and transforming these painful experiences into fuel for my creative well rather than inhibiting it. Re-remembering, harnessing and directing this powerful energy was instrumental in allowing me to step further uninhibited on my authentic path of becoming. The Workshop is an expression of this process. I would be honoured to guide you into yourself, so you can write the phenomenal story you were here to write.
